About Preferred Hotels & Resorts Platinum

A family-run home for independents.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts was founded in 1968 to give independent hotels a global reach of their own. The Ueberroth family bought the company in 2004, and Lindsey Ueberroth has led it as chief executive since 2014. Its members are independently owned hotels, resorts and residences, grouped into collections by style, with the LEGEND Collection at the top for the most distinguished addresses. Today the portfolio counts more than 600 hotels in over 80 countries, and the parent company has been called Preferred Travel Group since 2023.

Platinum is the adviser programme that gives bookings at participating Preferred hotels a set of added benefits. Booking through a participating adviser attaches them to your stay, and you still earn I Prefer points. It suits travellers who like independent hotels with a strong sense of place, and want them booked with the same assurance as a big-brand stay.
