About Belmond Bellini Club
Slow travel, by hotel and by train.
Belmond's story begins in 1976 with Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The following year the American entrepreneur James Sherwood began buying original carriages to revive the Orient-Express, and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has run under the company since 1982. Belmond has been part of LVMH since 2019 and calls itself a pioneer of slow travel: hotels, trains, river cruises and safari lodges that reward lingering, from Portofino and Cusco to the Eastern & Oriental Express through Malaysia. The collection now numbers around 43 properties in 24 countries.
Bellini Club is Belmond's programme for its partner travel advisers, and it reaches beyond hotels to the trains and river cruises. Booking through a Bellini Club adviser means the journey is planned by someone who knows the collection, with the club's benefits attached. It suits travellers who want to string together a hotel, a train and a river into one unhurried trip.

Giuseppe Cipriani's 1958 hideaway on Giudecca, a short launch ride from St Mark's, with gardens, an Olympic-size pool and the lagoon on three sides. It is the hotel most people picture when they hear the name Belmond.
