About Mandarin Oriental Fan Club

Two legends under one fan.

Mandarin Oriental grew from two founding hotels. The Mandarin opened in Hong Kong's Central district in 1963, and in 1974 the group took a stake in The Oriental in Bangkok, a riverside hotel whose story began in 1876. Together they gave the brand its name and its fan emblem. The house style blends Asian grace with a crisp, contemporary polish, and the group is known for its spas and for restaurants that are destinations in their own right. Today it operates around 47 hotels and 16 residences in around 30 countries and territories.

Fan Club is Mandarin Oriental's invitation-only programme for selected travel agencies. Booking through a member adviser attaches the Fan Club benefits to your reservation and puts someone in your corner who knows each hotel's rooms and restaurants. It suits travellers who move between the great Asian cities and want the same care at every stop.

The Oriental has stood on the Chao Phraya since 1876, and writers from Conrad to Maugham stayed here. It is the group's heritage flagship, and one of the great riverside hotels anywhere.
