About COUTURE by Langham
Europe's first grand hotel.
The Langham opened in London on 10 June 1865 and is regarded as Europe's first grand hotel, with the Prince of Wales at its opening and innovations such as hydraulic lifts and electric light. It is also credited with popularising afternoon tea, still served in its Palm Court. That Victorian heritage defines the brand: gracious, tea-scented and quietly theatrical, now carried to Hong Kong, Sydney, New York and beyond. The hotels belong to Langham Hospitality Group, part of Hong Kong's Great Eagle Holdings, which takes its name from the London original.
