Rosewood Hong Kong Holds No. 1 on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026

The Victoria Dockside hotel tops The World's 50 Best Hotels for a second consecutive year, is named Best Hotel in Asia and keeps its Three MICHELIN Keys.

Rosewood Hong Kong has been named No. 1 on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026 list, holding the top position for a second consecutive year. The hotel was also named Best Hotel in Asia and, in a separate announcement, retained its Three MICHELIN Keys, giving travellers planning a stay in Hong Kong two current endorsements of the same harbourfront address.

The result extends a run that now covers four editions of the list. Rosewood Hong Kong ranked No. 2 in 2023 and No. 3 in 2024, before taking No. 1 in 2025 and again in 2026. That makes four consecutive years among the world’s top three hotels. The Best Hotel in Asia title gives the regional picture alongside the global one: among Asia’s hotels on the 2026 list, Rosewood Hong Kong stands first. For anyone booking months ahead, a sustained record of this kind is the most useful thing a ranking can offer, because it shows a standard that has held from one year to the next.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels list is decided by vote. More than 800 independent industry experts take part, a panel that includes travel journalists, hoteliers and seasoned travellers. The list therefore reflects the combined judgement of people who write about hotels, run them and stay in them, and Rosewood Hong Kong has now come out at the head of that vote twice in succession.

The hotel sits on Victoria Harbour within the Victoria Dockside arts and culture district. It has 413 guestrooms and suites, with a further 186 Rosewood Residences. The interiors are the work of designer Tony Chi, and the release describes an ever-changing art collection alongside exclusive access to the city’s cultural establishments. Together, these details place culture at the centre of the stay, which suits a hotel whose address is an arts district and whose outlook is the harbour.

The breadth of what is on offer within the hotel is a large part of its appeal. Rosewood Hong Kong has 11 dining destinations, the Asaya wellness sanctuary, home to Asaya Spa by Guerlain, and the exclusive Manor Club. For a guest, that breadth has a practical benefit. A stay of several nights can take in a different table each evening and a full wellness offer without repetition, with the harbour and Victoria Dockside immediately to hand.

Managing Director Hugo Montanari credited the hotel’s 1,200 associates for the result, and thanked guests, partners and the community for their support. The emphasis is well placed. A property with 413 guestrooms and suites and 11 places to eat depends on a large team working to a consistent standard, and consistency is what a second year at No. 1 implies.

The MICHELIN Guide has reached a similar conclusion. In a separate Rosewood release, the hotel was again awarded Three MICHELIN Keys, the highest distinction in the MICHELIN Guide’s global hotel selection, for the second consecutive year. Rosewood announced the 50 Best result on 16 September 2026, and the 2026 MICHELIN Key selection was unveiled on 18 September 2026. Two separate bodies have therefore placed Rosewood Hong Kong at the top of their respective scales for two years running.

For the discerning traveller, the value of these accolades is confirmation. Those choosing a base in Hong Kong now have two current reference points for the same hotel: an expert vote of more than 800 and the MICHELIN Guide’s highest hotel distinction. Add the harbour setting, the cultural district on the doorstep, the dining line-up, Asaya and the Manor Club, and Rosewood Hong Kong has the range to anchor an entire visit to the city. Four years in the top three suggest that a booking made now for a later date rests on steady ground.
