Oceania Cruises has unveiled an expansive collection of 2027 and 2028 European voyages spanning Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Adriatic and the Aegean. At its centre is a first for the line: a full winter season in the Mediterranean, sailed by Oceania Allura across 17 voyages from November 2027 through March 2028.

The winter voyages range from nine to 26 days and sail between destinations including Barcelona, Rome, Athens and Istanbul. For travellers who know these cities from summer visits, the season offers the same capitals in the cooler months, with a choice of lengths that runs from a little over a week to nearly four. Two of the itineraries Oceania has highlighted carry departure dates inside that window: Warm Winter Wonderland, from Athens to Barcelona on 8 December 2027, and Iconic Art & Architecture, a roundtrip from Rome on 31 January 2028.

Across the wider collection, the itineraries pair landmark capitals with ports that see far fewer ships. Rome, Paris, London, Barcelona and Istanbul anchor the programme. Alongside them sit Golfo Aranci in Sardinia, Gythion and Skiathos in Greece, Kotor in Montenegro, Taranto in Puglia, and Çanakkale. It is a familiar Oceania formula, and a sound one: the well-known city provides the reason to book, and the smaller call often provides the day that stays in the memory.

Time in port is the other thread running through the announcement. Overnight and extended stays are offered in destinations such as Bordeaux, Hamburg and Florence/Pisa/Tuscany. An overnight changes the character of a call. It allows dinner ashore, an unhurried evening and a second morning in the same place, which matters most in ports where the principal sights lie some distance from the quay.

Atlantic Wine Trails shows how that works in practice. The 10-day voyage sails from Lisbon to London on 24 April 2027 aboard Oceania Insignia, calling at Oporto, La Coruña, Bilbao, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Saint-Malo and St. Peter Port. Bordeaux is the overnight stay, placed at the midpoint of a route that follows the Atlantic coast of Portugal, Spain and France before crossing to the Channel Islands and England.

In the north, Glacial Adventure is a 13-day sailing from Copenhagen to Reykjavik, departing 26 July 2027 aboard Oceania Marina. The route takes in Norway’s coast, the Faroe Islands, with a call at Tórshavn, and Iceland. It is the longest of the three voyages Oceania has detailed in full, and the one that carries the collection furthest from the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean itineraries for the main 2027 season include Mysteries of History, a nine-day voyage from Rome to Istanbul departing 24 May 2027 aboard Oceania Sirena, and Croissants & Cannoli, which sails from Barcelona to Rome on 16 September 2027. Both link two of the capitals that the winter programme also uses as turnaround ports, so travellers weighing a spring or autumn departure against a winter one will find comparable routes on offer in each season.

Food remains a defining part of the Oceania proposition ashore as well as on board. The line’s signature Culinary Discovery Tours are offered in the Adriatic and Ionian, where guests visit local markets and family-run producers before sitting down to a chef-led lunch. For travellers who choose a cruise for what they will eat as much as for where they will go, these tours are worth factoring into the choice of itinerary.

The practical point for planning is the breadth of what is now on sale. With four ships named across the highlighted voyages and departures dated from April 2027 to January 2028, the collection covers spring on the Atlantic coast, high summer in Iceland, and a full winter in the Mediterranean. Travellers with a fixed window can match it to a region, and those drawn to the winter season have 17 Oceania Allura voyages from which to choose.
