Fortuna of Cappadocia Opens as an Autograph Collection Hotel in Uçhisar

A design-forward new base in Uçhisar joins Marriott's Autograph Collection, with 125 rooms, 28 private villas and views across Cappadocia's valleys.

Fortuna of Cappadocia, Autograph Collection has officially opened in Uçhisar, central Türkiye, giving travellers a new and deliberately distinctive base from which to explore one of the country’s most recognisable landscapes. The property joins Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 300 independent hotels, and takes up a position overlooking Cappadocia’s valleys and rock formations from one of the region’s most iconic vantage points.

The arrival is a considered one. Cappadocia has long drawn visitors for its rock-cut heritage and its dawn skies filled with hot-air balloons, yet the accommodation on offer has tended towards the intimate and the boutique. Fortuna of Cappadocia sets out to add scale and range without surrendering a sense of place, pairing a substantial room count with the design sensibility and independent character that define the Autograph Collection.

Accommodation runs to 125 guest rooms and suites, complemented by 28 private villas for those who prefer a greater degree of seclusion and space. The villa option is the more notable of the two: standalone retreats remain relatively uncommon in the region, and they give families, groups and privacy-minded travellers an alternative to the conventional room-and-suite arrangement while keeping the hotel’s services and views within reach.

Dining and social life are organised around several venues, each with its own remit. Fortuna Table handles all-day dining, while Le Dome serves as the signature bar and the Lobby Lounge offers a more relaxed setting through the day. In the warmer months, the seasonal rooftop Fortuna Terrace opens to take advantage of the elevated position and the panorama it commands across the valleys below.

Two venues in particular set the property apart from much of what the region currently offers. Le Privé is an exclusive private wine cellar and cigar lounge, bringing together curated wines, cognacs and cigars in a format rarely found in Cappadocia. Alongside it, the Grand Cabaret provides a dedicated stage for live performances, paired with a dinner concept on selected evenings — a live-entertainment proposition that gives the hotel a social dimension beyond the usual bar and restaurant.

Wellness is given considerable room. The Spa & Wellness Centre spans approximately 1,112 square metres and includes an indoor pool alongside a traditional Turkish hammam, grounding the offer in local ritual while providing the facilities a discerning guest would expect. For those travelling on business or marking an occasion, the Fortuna Convention Hall is available for meetings, celebrations and private events, extending the property’s usefulness beyond leisure stays.

The Autograph Collection framing matters here. The badge is applied to independent hotels meant to stand on their own character rather than conform to a single template, and Fortuna of Cappadocia leans into that latitude with its wine cellar, cabaret and villa accommodation. At the same time, participation in Marriott Bonvoy means guests can earn and redeem points at the property, folding an independent-feeling stay into a familiar loyalty programme — a combination that will appeal to travellers who value both distinctiveness and continuity.

For a discerning traveller weighing a stay, the appeal is straightforward: a new opening that combines a genuine Cappadocian vantage point with the range of a full-service resort and a handful of venues — Le Privé and the Grand Cabaret among them — that are unusual for the region. Whether the aim is a villa retreat, a spa-led few days or simply a well-placed base for exploring the valleys and their balloon-filled mornings, the property now offers a booking option that did not exist before.
