Yas World Resort joins Vignette Collection with six hotels on Yas Island

Formerly Yas Plaza Hotels, Aldar's six-hotel resort on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island is now the largest Vignette Collection property in the world.

Yas World Resort, the six-hotel resort previously known as Yas Plaza Hotels, joined IHG’s Vignette Collection on 2 November 2026. Aldar developed the resort on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It brings six hotels together as one integrated destination, and it is now the largest Vignette Collection property in the world.

Vignette Collection is IHG’s portfolio of individual hotels, and this addition takes the idea of individuality to an unusual scale. Each of the six hotels has its own personality, and each takes its cue from a different part of the island. Verde looks to the mangroves, Vista to the bay and Horizon to the marina. Pulse is shaped around the circuit and motorsport, and Fairway around golf. Haven is designed for longer stays. Between them, the six hold more than 1,400 rooms and suites.

The more significant change is the way the hotels now work together. Guests at any one of the six share the facilities of the whole resort. That means 21 food and beverage options, six swimming pools, three spas and three kids’ clubs, along with gyms and courts for padel, tennis and squash. The shoreline is Cyan Beach, a private stretch of sand that all guests share, with food and beverage offerings by the water.

The setting adds a great deal. Yas Island is home to Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld, Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina Circuit, Etihad Arena, Yas Links and CLYMB Abu Dhabi. That covers theme parks, a motorsport circuit, a major arena, a golf course and an indoor climbing and skydiving centre, all on one island. Each of the six hotels speaks to part of that mix, so a guest can pick a base to match the purpose of the trip. A golfer can book Fairway, a motorsport enthusiast can book Pulse, and a family settling in for a fortnight can book Haven.

The shared model suits groups well. When several generations travel together, or friends gather for a milestone, each party can choose the hotel and room style that suits it. Everyone can then meet on the same beach, at the same pools and in the same restaurants. The three kids’ clubs serve families with younger children, while the three spas give the adults somewhere to retreat.

Vignette Collection hotels are expected to have a strong local character, and the resort has built some of it into the arrival. Guests are welcomed with ‘Marhaba El-Saa’, an Emirati-inspired arrival ritual. They also receive a bespoke scent, created with House of Artisans in Abu Dhabi, in a keepsake bottle to take home. It is a small gesture, but it gives a large resort a distinctly Emirati first impression and a memento that outlasts the stay.

The local connection continues through the Means For Good initiative, which offers handcrafted Emirati pieces for guests to buy. The proceeds support local artisans. Travellers who like their souvenirs to have a clear provenance will find this a better choice than an airport shop.

Loyalty is the practical point for many readers. IHG One Rewards members can earn and redeem points across all six hotels, which brings the whole resort into a single programme. A member can book Vista for a short break and Haven for a longer one, and both stays count towards the same account. IHG and Aldar have also said that further enhancements are planned for dining, wellness and sports, so the offering is likely to keep developing over the coming seasons.

For now, the main decision is which of the six hotels to book, because the beach, pools, spas and restaurants come with all of them. Choose by setting: mangroves, bay, marina, circuit or golf. Families staying for a longer period should look first at Haven. Wherever guests sleep, the shared facilities and the island’s attractions are on the doorstep.
