Fairmont New Orleans Opens Reservations for Stays from 2 November 2026
Reservations are live for Fairmont's return to New Orleans after two decades: 250 rooms, Fairmont Gold and Emeril Lagasse dining in a 1970 Skidmore, Owings & Merrill building.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened reservations for Fairmont New Orleans, with stays available from 2 November 2026. The announcement, made on 1 October, sets a firm date for the brand’s return to the city after two decades and brings a 250-key hotel to the Central Business District. Dining comes in partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse, and the rooftop pool is described as the highest in the city.
The property is Fairmont’s 19th in the USA and has been developed by Kailas Companies. It occupies 17 storeys of the former Bank of New Orleans building, designed in 1970 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The address sits steps from both the French Quarter and Caesars Superdome, a useful position for travellers who want the old city and the stadium within easy reach of the same front door. The building’s 1970 origins give the project its character: a piece of the city’s commercial architecture, now given over to hospitality.
Rockwell Group has designed the interiors, taking the contrast between built and natural environments as its organising idea. A central Lobby Bar serves as the social anchor of the hotel, the point around which the public spaces are arranged. The pairing of a 1970 Skidmore, Owings & Merrill structure with new Rockwell Group interiors gives the hotel a clear architectural identity, and it is the detail most likely to interest travellers who choose a hotel for its building as much as its bed.

Accommodation runs to 250 guest rooms and suites. Within that count sits Fairmont Gold, the brand’s hotel-within-a-hotel, which will be familiar to guests who have used it at other Fairmont properties. The format gives those guests a distinct tier inside the larger hotel, and its presence here is worth noting at the booking stage: travellers who favour Fairmont Gold elsewhere can plan a New Orleans stay around it from the opening date.

Food and drink are a partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse, and it extends across three venues. Delmonico Steakhouse, a 1970s-inspired dining room, takes its place in the lobby, in an era that echoes the building’s own origins. Higher up, Third Measure is the rooftop bar and Bleu Perdu the poolside lounge. Together they give the hotel a full day’s range, from a drink by the water to a steakhouse dinner downstairs, all under one culinary name.
The rooftop is likely to be the hotel’s signature. Fairmont describes the pool and lounge as the highest in the city, with views of the Mississippi. Below, the spa covers 10,000 square feet, with three treatment rooms and a couples suite, joined by a dry sauna, steam room and fitness studio. For a city-centre hotel, that is a considered wellness offer, and one that gives a reason to spend part of a stay inside the building.
The hotel has also been planned with gatherings in mind. Event space includes two 4,000-square-foot ballrooms, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom, with capacity for groups of 10 to 500 guests. Those considering New Orleans for a celebration or a private event now have a new option at the luxury end, with dining, spa and rooftop under the same roof as the ballrooms.
For now, the practical point is simple. Reservations are live, the first available night is 2 November 2026, and Fairmont says further ‘first look’ details will follow in the coming weeks. Travellers with fixed dates in the city this autumn or winter can secure rooms today; those who prefer to see more of the finished interiors before committing will have more to go on shortly.
Fairmont’s return after two decades gives New Orleans a new full-service luxury hotel in a building of architectural standing, with a named chef, a rooftop pool and a substantial spa. It joins the list of openings worth planning a late-2026 trip around.
