The Nam Hai opens its first renovated three-bedroom pool villas
The first two renovated Signature Three-Bedroom Pool Villas have opened on Ha My Beach, setting the design direction for the rest of the collection.
Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An has opened the first two renovated villas within its Three-Bedroom Pool Villa collection: the Signature Ocean-View Three-Bedroom Pool Villa and the Signature Beachfront Three-Bedroom Pool Villa. Both sit on Ha My Beach, on the stretch of coast between Da Nang and Hoi An, facing the East Sea.

The multi-bedroom villas have long been the resort’s flagship accommodation for families and groups travelling together, which makes this pair the clearest signal yet of where the property is heading. The work follows the renovation of the One-Bedroom Villas and Family Villas, completed in December 2025, and the two Signature villas now standing open are the first of the three-bedroom category to be handed back. What has been done here is the template the rest of the collection will follow.

The Ocean-View villa looks across Ha My Beach and the East Sea from expansive terraces that have been reworked around an enhanced infinity pool and a sunken lounge. The arrangement gives the outdoor space a defined centre of gravity — somewhere to sit through the long afternoon and into the evening without moving indoors. The Beachfront villa takes the more direct position, sitting on the shoreline itself with its own access to the sand and uninterrupted views out to sea.
Interiors are the work of HBA Singapore, drawing on the traditional garden houses of Hue — the imperial city up the coast, where domestic architecture was organised around courtyards, screens and a deliberate flow between inside and out. That reference shows in the layering: airy natural finishes have been set against the villas’ original dark timber, so the new palette reads as an addition to the resort’s existing bones rather than a replacement of them.

The bedrooms are built around a reimagined version of the resort’s ‘sleep temple’: a raised canopy-style bed, soft drapery, and pendant lighting whose form takes its cue from Vietnam’s Non La, the conical palm-leaf hat. It is the detail most likely to be photographed, and also the one that carries the most design intent — the bed is treated as a piece of architecture within the room, with the lighting hung to frame it.
Elsewhere the changes are practical as much as decorative. Bathrooms have been expanded and now open to a garden, with an outdoor rain shower — a sensible move in a climate that rewards washing off the salt in the open air. Living areas are open-plan, with a bay window and daybed anchoring one side, and each villa has its own private landscaped garden outside. For three bedrooms’ worth of occupants, the additional square metreage in the wet areas is likely to matter more day to day than any single flourish.
General Manager Marcel Oostenbrink frames the brief as preserving the resort’s original character while refining the seaside experience, and the finished villas bear that out: the timber and the low-slung silhouette that made The Nam Hai’s reputation are intact, with the lighter finishes, larger bathrooms and reworked terraces doing the modernising. It is a restrained approach, and on a property of this vintage it is the right one.
Booking a Signature villa carries a defined set of benefits: roundtrip airport transfer within Hoi An and Da Nang, a personal attendant, a bottle of the Nam Hai Negroni for each bedroom, curated cocktail garnishes and snacks, and daily laundry of up to six pieces. Beyond that, the resort can arrange floating breakfasts in the infinity pool, private yoga or meditation sessions, poolside cocktails and private barbecue dinners. For a group taking a three-bedroom villa for a week, that combination — attendant service, in-villa dining, a pool of genuine size — makes the villa itself the centre of the holiday, with Hoi An’s old town and Da Nang both close enough for day trips. Anyone weighing a stay should ask specifically for one of the two renovated Signature villas at the time of booking, since the remainder of the collection has yet to go through the same programme.
