Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea opens Kai Holo Spa
The Wailea resort's new spa adds a three-pool aquathermal circuit, island-rooted Pacific Journeys rituals and a redesigned longevity centre.
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has unveiled Kai Holo Spa, a wellness centre whose name translates as ‘flowing tide’ in Hawaiian. Announced on 23 July 2026, it brings the resort a full aquathermal circuit, a set of signature rituals drawn from the island itself and a redesigned longevity centre next door — the sort of facility a discerning traveller can build a stay around.

At the heart of the spa sits an aquathermal centre whose design reflects Maui’s landscape and the journey of water from mountain to sea. A sculptural cleft black granite wall anchors the room, a textural reference to the island’s volcanic origins, and three hydrotherapy pools occupy the centre of the space: a vitality pool, a therapeutic hot pool and an invigorating cold plunge. The sequencing is deliberate, and the pools are close enough together that moving between them feels like a single continuous experience.

Around them, a steam room, a sensory experience shower and both traditional and infrared saunas complete the contrast-therapy circuit. Across the aquathermal centre, the relaxation lounge and the treatment rooms, light and colour have been used intentionally to optimise circadian rhythms — a considered touch at a resort where guests routinely arrive across several time zones and spend the first days of a stay resetting.

Pat Makozak, the resort’s Senior Spa Director, frames the approach in personal terms. Wellness today, she says, is deeply personal, and at Kai Holo that means meeting each guest exactly where they are. In practice, that shows up in the breadth of the menu: hydrothermal bathing, hands-on bodywork, technology-led diagnostics and quiet time in the lounge all sit within the same building, and a guest can lean towards whichever they need on the day.
The signature treatments are grouped under the banner of Pacific Journeys. The Kai Holo Signature Oceanside Ritual opens with a warm black sea-salt foot soak, then moves through a resort-harvested honey and sugar polish, a kukui oil massage and a scalp ritual. Piko Malama Wahine works with a warm herbal poultice of honey, lemon balm, chamomile and lavender, again finishing with a kukui oil massage and an amla oil scalp ritual. Both are built around ingredients with a genuine claim to the place.
Elsewhere on the menu, the Spirulina & Astaxanthin Ocean Detox Body Ritual begins with dry brushing before a warm seaweed and Hawaii-grown spirulina wrap and a lomi lomi massage. The Queen’s Garden Fern Ritual uses native fern oil sourced from Kauai and a warm lava mask wrapped in Ti leaves. A facial menu blends bio-hacking technology with skincare science, and sits alongside bodywork and a range of curated wellness services.

The clinical side of the offer has been growing quietly for some time. Building on a collaboration with Next|Health that dates to 2021, the resort has redesigned its longevity centre adjacent to the spa, where guests can book biomarker testing, IV therapy and NAD+ treatments. A hyperbaric chamber is due to arrive in late summer, which is worth noting for anyone timing a visit around that particular interest.
The fitness offer has been reworked in the same pass. The reimagined fitness centre is equipped with sandstone-colour Technogym machines and body composition analysis, and a new infrared Movement Studio hosts yoga, Pilates reformer sessions and outdoor TRX classes. Signature wellness retreat programming, curated by Makozak herself, will debut later this year — a second reason to watch the calendar before committing to dates.
Kai Holo Spa is the centrepiece of a wider transformation of the resort guided by Meyer Davis, whose work extends across the guest rooms, the suites and the Club Floor. For a property that has long been the benchmark on this stretch of Wailea coastline, the spa now carries enough weight to shape the rhythm of a stay: a morning circuit through the pools and saunas, a Pacific Journeys ritual in the afternoon, diagnostics booked in advance for those who want them. Guests planning for the autumn should ask about the retreat dates and the hyperbaric chamber when they book, since both land after the spa’s opening.
